Hub Power Holdings Ltd (HUBCO/HPHL) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) have signed an MoU to
jointly establish an electric vehicle (EV) charging network across Pakistan. The partnership aligns
with GoP efforts to support EV adoption alongside diversifying fresh revenue streams into green
energy markets for both companies.
The provisional EV tariff set by NEPRA for EVCs is currently PkR45.54/kWh, with no FCAs applicable. However, the EVC policy has yet to be announced, as the modalities between NEPRA and the Engineering Development Board (EDB) have yet to be finalized.
Looking ahead, with new EV launches like BYD, Deepal, and ORA–3, along with several other plug–in competitors entering the market, establishment of a nationwide EV charging infrastructure would provide a first–mover advantage to both the players involved.
