Heimtextil is extremely important for Pakistan’s home textile exports.

Pakistan significantly increased its participation in Heimtextil 2025, becoming the fourth-largest exhibitor country after China, India, and Turkey at the globally recognized home and contract textiles trade fair. Pakistan’s textile industry, with 273 exhibitors, including 64 companies in the Trade Development of Pakistan’s Pakistan Pavilion, demonstrated a remarkable 10% increase compared to the previous year. The event, from 14 to 17 January ’25 in Frankfurt, Germany, featured 2,800 exhibitors from 130 countries.

The Commercial Section of the Pakistani Consulate in Frankfurt facilitated Pakistan’s participation in Heimtextil 2025. Pakistani companies were centrally placed at the exhibition with larger stalls in Hall No. 8, 9 with better strategic location. Many exporters reported that buyers from Europe, the UK, and other countries showed great interest in Pakistani stalls and products compared to previous years.

Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, CEO of TDAP, highlighted the importance of this event: “As the fourth-largest exhibitor at Heimtextil, we are optimistic about the future of the textile industry. We hope the government will swiftly address the sector’s challenges, enabling further growth and development.” TDAP has consistently encouraged smaller local textile exporters to participate in these exhibitions, and its efforts to increase Pakistan’s textile exports are commendable.

“Heimtextil is extremely important for Pakistan’s home textile exports. With record participation this year, we anticipate a significant increase in exports,” said Shafaat Ahmad Kaleem, Pakistan’s Consul General in Frankfurt, while inaugurating the national pavilion at the Heimtextil exhibition.

On January 15th, the Pakistan Commercial Section in Frankfurt organized a networking event to foster stronger business relationships. The event, organized under the ‘Thread Connect’ initiative, brought together Pakistani exporters and global buyers.

Heimtextil 2025, Pakistan, engaged existing buyers and attracted new ones. This event served as the industry’s most important global event, and exhibitors showcased a diverse range of home textile products, including bed linen, kitchen linen, towels, carpets, kitchen linen, institutional textiles, etc., highlighting unique craftsmanship and innovative designs.

The textile industry remains confident in its ability to navigate the challenges posed by the EU’s impending sustainability regulations (2025-2030). While large corporations have already achieved compliance with international standards, SMEs are undergoing a significant transformation to ensure their future sustainability.

The export value of home textile products is already $2 billion, and with the US tightening policies on Chinese products and cotton, Pakistani textiles are well-positioned to capture more market share. The textile industry contributes significantly to the national economy, generating nearly 60% of total exports and 8-9% of GDP. The country’s diverse textile exports, encompassing knitwear, home linens, bed sheets, and more, find major markets in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East. Cotton serves as a crucial foundation for this sector.

Heimtextil 2025 spanned 16 halls and showcased a diverse product range, including wallpapers, upholstery fabrics, mattresses, and carpets. The event’s comprehensive content program delved into critical industry themes such as sleep, sustainability, AI in retail, and contract furnishings.

Heimtextil served as a crucial platform for companies to solidify their market position. The event facilitated enhanced international visibility, enabled the identification of new market opportunities, and fostered the development of valuable global business partnerships.
