Healthy volumes were observed in the 3rd tier stocks today

· The benchmark KSE-100 index opened in a positive note but couldn’t sustain due to lack of participation and led the index to trade in the red zone during the first trading session however in the second session market traded in narrow range, main board volumes stayed dull whereas healthy volumes were observed in the 3rd tier stocks.

· The Index closed at 41,948.50pts, down by 137.22pts (-0.33% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Technology (-70.5pts), Tobacco (-19.1pts), Refinery (-9.0pts), Commercial Banks (-6.8pts) and Investment Banks (-6.5pts).

· Volumes increased from 222.2mn shares to 328.7mn shares (47.9% DoD). The average traded value decreased by -0.6% to USD 44.0mn as against USD 44.3mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are WTL, TRG, GTECH, GGL and GTECHHBR.
