On the special directives of Muhammad Saleem Memon, President of the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry (HCSTSI), Vice President Mr. Shan Sehgal participated in a prestigious event organized by the Nooriabad Association of Trade & Industry in honour of Brigadier Muhammad Umar Farooq, Director Commander of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh. The gathering was attended by a large number of industrialists, traders, and representatives from various trade and industrial organizations in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and Nooriabad.
During his address, Brigadier Muhammad Umar Farooq shed light on the Anti-Narcotics Force’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal narcotics activities and ensure the legal and safe use of chemicals in the industrial sector. He emphasized that, in today’s industrial era, adherence to legal protocols and safety standards in the use of chemicals is absolutely vital. Illegal import and export of chemicals not only damage the national economy but also pose a serious threat to public health. The ANF’s objective is to work in close collaboration with the industrial community to promote lawful practices, ease regulatory procedures, and ensure greater transparency.
Brigadier Farooq further stated that ANF has now expanded its awareness campaigns across universities, industrial zones, and community sectors to educate stakeholders about compliance requirements and to prevent potential violations in the future.

The Brigadier graciously accepted the invitation and expressed his intention to visit soon, while also organizing an awareness session in collaboration with the Chamber and the universities of Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shan Sehgal highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening collaboration between government departments and the business community. He remarked that constructive engagement with key institutions such as the ANF will not only address industrial challenges but also facilitate a better understanding of legal frameworks for chemical trade and import/export matters.
He added that HCSTSI aims to establish closer coordination with ANF through joint seminars and awareness programs, enabling industrialists to receive proper guidance and promoting lawful, transparent, and ethical business practices in the region.
