‘I am confident that this International Forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer, Telecommunication and Information Technology will serve its purpose by providing the participants an insight in the emerging areas of science and technology’, he said, adding that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, the Founder Chancellor of Hamdard University was so immersed in the research endeavors that he had not only participated in a number of national and international conferences on Science, but also sponsored and organized several conferences on ‘Science and Muslim scientists’ of mediaeval era. In line with his mission and vision, Hamdard University has been at the forefront in promoting research and development related activities since its inception, he concluded.

Earlier speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Dean, FEST, Hamdard University said that recently, Hamdard University had achieved another milestone by getting first electronic engineering batch accredited on OBE level II by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) which had granted ‘OBE accreditation’ status to only 4 engineering programs (out of 92) in Sindh till date. Our distinguish faculty members were also conducting OBE Trainings programs for the faculty members of other universities, he informed.

Prof. Dr. M. Shahab Siddiqui, Vice Chairman, IEEE Karachi Section and Professor, Department of Computer Science and IT, Jinnah University for Women, Karachi said that researches gave power to such conferences and conferences propagated to the researches, that’s why 6 conferences of such nature have been organized by IEEE Karachi Section. Three more such conferences would be organized by IEEE Karachi Section in 2019 and this would continue in 2020, and coming years of 2021 and 2022, he informed and added that after the establishment of IEEE in 1982 in Pakistan this organization had access to 35 Universities of Sindh.

Dr. Mohammed Faez Karim from Singapore, who delivered his paper through on line communications on the subject “Wireless Power Transfer and Harvesting Energy”, said that the financial growth of energy harvesting is attached to smart devices, smart phones, and wireless power and harvesting platform.

Mr. Kok-Lim Alvin Yau, Associate Professor, Sunway University, Malaysia while delivering his paper on ‘Biomedical Engineering’ said that stressing upon the re-enforcement of learning straight from the text books was not enough to make students competent in their subjects.
