Group Development Pakistan and UNFPA Pakistan conclude a three-day Training of Trainers

Twenty-eight community-based organizations from across Pakistan gathered in Islamabad for a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) under The Learning Network (TLN), an initiative by UNFPA Pakistan, supported by the Government of the Netherlands and implemented by Group Development Pakistan (GDP). The training involved youth-led, women-led, transgender-led, and minority-led organizations working on social change and protection.
TLN aims to equip community actors with the skills to uphold the rights and dignity of adolescents and vulnerable populations, focusing on safe, inclusive community support in line with global protection standards. Participants explored critical themes such as Adolescent and Youth Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender-Based Violence prevention, Mental Health, and Climate Resilience.
The training featured insights from Dr. Rubina Ali of UNFPA, who emphasized the importance of collaboration among organizations. Over the three days, participants examined rights-based foundations, designed community-led initiatives, and developed project plans while engaging in narrative building for effective rights-based communication.
In the closing ceremony, Ms. Sameen Sheikh of GDP highlighted the responsibility of these organizations to support vulnerable groups. Ms. Faiza Mir stated that TLN helps organizations better understand community needs. UNFPA Pakistan and GDP will provide ongoing support through mentoring and digital learning to ensure lasting community action across Pakistan.
