Greenstar celebrates Women’s Day with a commitment to female-health

Greenstar Social Marketing (GSM) collaborated with the School of Leadership (SoL) to celebrate the World Women’s Day 2020, by organizing “Beyond Beauty X” – an event celebrating the women who inspire, the women who drive innovation, the women who create magic and the women who make an impact, every single day.

GSM recognized the Women’s Day occasion as an opportunity to raise awareness on women’s health, especially among the young women in Pakistan. The event appreciated the valuable contributions of a healthy female population, towards nation-building and socio-economic sustainability. GSM featured a special kiosk to promote the POOCHO helpline – the only helpline in Pakistan that provides SRH&FP (Sexual Reproductive Health & Family Planning) services, 24 hours a day & 7 days a week.

About 150 women, from different walks of life, participated in the event, where their struggles were acknowledged, achievements were celebrated, along with discussions on developing new skills, through; workshops, breakout sessions, keynote speeches & panel discussions. Greenstar Social Marketing also mentored and delivered a special session on “Work-Life Balance” and its benefits for a healthy lifestyle.

The CEO of GSM – Dr. Syed Azizur Rab stated that: “The event was a roaring success as we received an overwhelming response from women of all ages. We also thank the other key stakeholders, including; the academia, the media, the civil-society and the relevant governmental institutions, who have promised to extend every possible support, to enable more empowerment and healthy nurturing of our female population.”

GSM has been operating as the largest private-sector institution, to improve reproductive health-services in Pakistan, for the past 28 years. It inspires the population by voluntarily delivering safe & reliable, quality contraceptive products, at affordable prices and delivers valuable information for family planning. GSM acts as an independent member of the global network – ‘Population Services International’ (PSI). It has contributed 12% to 15% yearly to the national ‘Couple Years of Protection’ (CYPs). GSM has established a nationwide network of 6,000 plus private-providers, engaging over 100,000 pharmacies & retailers, supported by over 400 field staff members.
