To mark Safer Internet Month, Google has introduced a range of tools and educational initiatives to help students, parents, and educators in Pakistan navigate the AI landscape safely. Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Cluster Director for the region, emphasised the company’s commitment to online safety, stating that all Google products are designed with security and privacy in mind.

Google aims to equip families with practical tools, such as SafeSearch and Family Link, to manage online activity. They also promote critical thinking skills through the “SIFT” method, which helps distinguish between human- and AI-generated content. Additionally, Google provides customizable tools for families to tailor technology use to their needs, such as parental controls on YouTube.

In fostering AI literacy, Google supports initiatives such as the Gemini app and programs that encourage responsible digital citizenship among youth. Overall, Google is dedicated to empowering Pakistan’s youth to thrive in a secure and AI-enhanced digital environment.
