Further, efforts such as prioritising local suppliers, and careful planning to reduce carbon footprint and encourage responsible tourism behaviour are embedded in every aspect of the service.
Meeting market demand
The Norwegian cruise tourism sector currently attracts 5.5 million visitors annually. Such a significant tourist turnover, with sustained year-on-year growth, was an opportunity to prioritise sustainability and local culture through shore excursion services while maintaining affordability and high quality.

Since 2015, Commercial Manager Cruise & Navy, Truls Andre V. Gabrielsen, has played a key role in developing GAC Norway’s successful cruise ship agency. His extensive industry network and expertise will be instrumental in driving the shore excursion initiative forward.

After extensive travel to cruise destinations across Norway, the shore excursions team has forged strong partnerships with local service providers and guides to enhance authenticity and service quality.

GAC Norway Shore Excursions will launch in June 2025, offering a diverse range of activities in key cruise destinations. Each excursion is designed to deliver meaningful experiences while contributing positively to the places visited in the itinerary. Some of the excursion highlights are:
