FPCCI invites Chiefs of Political Parties to visit FPCCI and make presentation of their party’s economic agenda and road map

Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Sr. Vice President & Chairman, Budget Advisory Council of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in his letter addressed to the Chiefs of almost all the major political parties has individually invited them to visit the Federation House, Karachi on mutually convenient date and time and make a presentation to FPCCI members on economic agenda and road map of priorities, as cherished by their party for revival of economy and to steer the country out of the multi-faceted instant challenges being confronted by it such as balance of payment; fiscal and debt sustainability; better management of public sector entities; reforms of transparency, eliminating the menace of corruption, ease of doing business etc.

He added that this would provide an opportunity to our members to discuss the matters of mutual interest particularly related to facilitate trade and industry with the view to enhance investment, increase production, boost exports, and curtail imports,

Elaborating the rationale behind the move, the SVP of FPCCI said, “Although a few days have remained in the upcoming election of 2018, yet none of the political parties have truly outlined its economic agenda”. It is axiomatic that the economic challenges for the next elected government will be tougher than the recently out-going democratic government, he added.

Therefore, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), an apex trade body of Pakistan, consisting of 210 Trade Bodies including local Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Trade Associations across Pakistan, has initiated a programme to invite the country’s top political party leaders to discuss their economic agenda and other national issues, the SVP of FPCCI concluded.
