Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President FPCCI, has announced the formation of National Committees on various international forums, including ECO CCI, Pakistan–EU Business Forum, CACCI, Pakistan–ASEAN Business Forum, Commonwealth, D-8 CCI and OIC, and has also launched their membership drive among trade bodies, chambers and associations across the country.
Mr Atif Ikram Sheikh stated that this important initiative will significantly enhance Pakistan’s effective representation and proactive participation in regional and global economic platforms by institutionalising engagement with leading international organisations in a more coordinated and results-oriented manner to promote the country’s trade, investment, and economic interests.
FPCCI Chief further elaborated that these committees will comprise experienced representatives from the business community and relevant stakeholders with a strong understanding of international markets – enabling them to deliberate on emerging global trends, policy developments, and new opportunities for Pakistan, while strengthening liaison with international chambers and Pakistan’s commercial missions abroad.
Mr Atif Ikram Sheikh added that this initiative reflects FPCCI’s commitment to aligning Pakistan’s business community with evolving global economic dynamics and will play a vital role in enhancing trade diplomacy, promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation, identifying new avenues for exports, investments and joint ventures, and providing effective policy input to the government.
President FPCCI expressed confidence that these committees will strengthen Pakistan’s economic footprint globally, improve institutional linkages with foreign counterparts, and contribute to sustainable economic growth – while ensuring broad-based and inclusive representation through nominations invited from trade bodies nationwide.
