FPCCI advocates for a 50% fee reduction for women chambers

Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), has requested a 50% fee reduction for amending the Memorandum and Articles of Association for Women Chambers.

He addressed the Director General of the Directorate General of Trade Organizations (DGTO) at the Ministry of Commerce, emphasising that women represent 52% of Pakistan’s population. The appeal follows a recent notification imposing a PKR 100,000 fee for documentary amendments required to comply with new regulatory instructions.

FPCCI has received numerous requests from Women’s Chambers for financial relief, highlighting their limited resources and reliance on membership fees. Mr. Sheikh noted the critical role these chambers play in promoting women entrepreneurship and urged the fee reduction as essential support, aligning with the government’s vision for women’s empowerment and economic growth.

SVP FPCCI, Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, echoed that this waiver would aid compliance and enhance women’s economic participation.
