First Digital Pakistan Conference postpones due to Covid-19

 

Due to growing cases of Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19) and ongoing lockdown in most parts of Pakistan and other regions of the world, in the interest of the nation’s safety and supporting the directions of the Government, First Digital Pakistan Conference scheduled to be held on April 15, 2020 in Karachi has been postponed till further notice. This event was aimed to make Pakistan an information technology (IT) hub and build capacity of IT industry to produce thousands of jobs for youth following vision of present government.

Organizers of this event on Thursday announced that due to increased risk of this virus for national and international delegates and following advises of provincial and federal government of Pakistan, they were compelled to take this postponement decision with heavy heart. Through this decision, we are sure that this will be a crucial step to break the chain of transmission of this disease in fellow citizens and it will also ensure safety of our participants, partners, sponsors and everyone on board, told by Mr. Maroof Aub, CEO – AMFCO Technologies in an urgent statement. 

 “We were assessing the situation changing every day here in Pakistan as well. We have taken this decision at a video conference of Advisory Board members of this first Digital Pakistan Conference called on a short notice. All members have endorsed this decision and have agreed to announce its later date as soon situation normalize in Pakistan and other parts of the world,” he noted. AMFCO Technologies was organizer of this mega event in collaboration with IBA-CICT as academic partner and ISACA Karachi Chapter as supporting body. Other partners of this conference included Smart Stream, Infrasol, NDC/Temenos, DELL, Viper Technology, Dellsons Associates and few more from private and public sectors.

 “As we are striving to make Pakistan a digital country by supporting digitization actions, we will reschedule this event for sure. Digital economy is based on digital computing technologies, although we increasingly perceive this as conducting business through markets based on the internet and the world-wide web. It is a growing industry world over,” Mr. Maroof Ayub expressed.
