Federal Minister for Marin Affairs Syed Ali Hyder Zaidi said that non-filers would be included in tax net, in upcoming months; difficult decisions will be taken under the difficult situations. He was addressing to the Annual Dinner of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI).
On this occasion Patron in chief of KATI SM Muneer, SardarYasin Malik, Zbair Chaya, KAIT’s President Tariq Mali, Senior Vice President SlamanAslam, Vice President JunaidNaqi and others also spoke to the gathering.
The Federal minister said that PTI government will resolve the problems faced by Business community on priority basis. He said that E-government is the only way to improve governance. Zaidi said that he has given a deadline of 6 months to his ministry to digitalize all process.
Prior to this Patron in Chief of KATI SM Muneer said that while taking any action, self-respect of businessman shouldn’t compromised at any level, he referred to an recent incident. He said that exporters and industrialist were parsing government since years for their returns dues, but got nothing except promises. He urged the government to release due refunds as soon as possible. SM Muneer also appreciated the efforts of outgoing president and other office bearers.
Sardar Yasin Malik said that there is only one bridge which connects Korangi Industrial Area and the other part of the city, KATI should make efforts to develop other bridges to ensure accessibility of the area.
Chairman and CEO KITE, Zubair Chaya said that previous government introduces the categories of fillers and non-filers, but tax payers didn’t get any relief. He said that there should be measures to expend tax net but already taxpaying citizens have more right to get relief and respect first.
On this occasion the outgoing President KATI Tariq Malik told the gathering about performance and progress in KATI. He noted that increased cost of doing business is one of the biggest challenges for industry, energy prices should bring to the level playing field as industry of neighboring countries enjoying cheaper energy, and doing good at exports.
