Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL) reported a robust first-quarter performance ended September 30, 2026, posting a 51% year-on-year increase in profit after tax as improved cement retention prices, higher local dispatches, and cost optimization measures boosted earnings.
According to the company’s Board-approved financial results, net revenue rose to Rs26.05 billion during the quarter, up from Rs23.42 billion in the corresponding period last year. Gross profit climbed 27% to Rs9.36 billion from Rs7.38 billion, while operating profit increased to Rs7.61 billion against Rs5.96 billion a year earlier.
Profit after tax surged to Rs4.96 billion from Rs3.29 billion in the first quarter of FY2025-26, lifting the net profit margin to 19% from 14% in the same period last year.
The company attributed the strong performance primarily to improved retention prices, growth in local cement dispatches and ongoing cost-efficiency initiatives. Gross profit margin improved to 36%, compared with 32% a year earlier.
FCCL also benefited from lower financing costs. Net finance cost declined to Rs405 million from Rs668 million in the corresponding quarter, further supporting profitability amid a challenging operating environment.
The company’s share of profit from investment under the equity method amounted to Rs496 million during the quarter, further contributing to earnings growth.
The Board did not announce any cash dividend, bonus shares or rights shares for the quarter.
Industry analysts view the results as reflecting the cement sector’s improving pricing discipline and operational efficiency, with FCCL continuing to leverage its scale and cost-management initiatives to strengthen earnings despite prevailing economic challenges.
