Dr. Naveed Yousuf, CEO of the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB), has been appointed Vice President of the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) starting in 2025. This follows his election as a member of the Board of Trustees earlier this year. His dual roles enhance Pakistan’s representation in global educational assessment discussions.
The IAEA is a key global forum for examining bodies and research organizations from over 50 countries. Dr. Yousuf’s election highlights his expertise in assessment and AKU-EB’s reputation in educational transformation.
“It is an honour to represent Pakistan and AKU-EB at the IAEA,” said Dr. Yousuf. “I look forward to shaping the future of educational assessment while enhancing our practices at home.”
AKU-EB is noted for promoting rigorous, fair examinations that prioritize critical thinking over rote memorization. In his new role, Dr. Yousuf will help guide the IAEA’s strategic direction and advocate for inclusive assessment practices, marking a significant milestone for Pakistan in the international education community.
