Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, inaugurates painting exhibition in Art Council

Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, caretaker cultural minister, said that the contributions which have been served by Arts Council Karachi for the promotion of arts and literature should be cherished. He expressed his views in the painting exhibition of young artist Tuseef Shaikh, organized in Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi on Saturday. He further said that if any artist needs help organizing the art exhibitions, the government will humbly cooperate with them in this regard. Dr. Junaid Ali Shah said that an artist should be appreciated for the sake of art but unfortunately in Pakistan, arts don’t get promoted to such extent.

During the session, he was accompanied by a large number of renowned personalities including the Secretary Arts Council Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Farooqui, Member of Governing body, Asjad Bukhari, Bashir Saddozai, Kashif Grami, Syed Saadat Jafri, Shakil Khan and director of Arts Council Nadeem Zafar. Dr. Junaid Ali Shah added that Arts Council is doing a great deal in promoting new talent and arts.

More than 50 paintings were presented during exhibiting where the artist, Tauseef Sheikh said that the unique thing about his artifacts is that all his work is produced using the knife instead of paint brush, which is a rare job in Pakistan. He appreciated the efforts made by the President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah, and showed his gratitude towards Arts Council Karachi on holding the marvelous ceremony. The exhibition was attended by senior artist Abdul Hayee, Akbar Naqvi, Mansor Zubairi, Momin Khan, Akbar Khan and other prominent artists who appreciated the creativity of Tauseef Shaikh.

Meanwhile, in the memory of late renowned singer Muhammad Rafi, Arts council of Pakistan Karachi is organizing a session “Rafi ki yadeen” on Tuesday 31st July 2018 at 9pm in Manzar Akbar Hall Arts Council Karachi. On the occasion of Muhammad Rafi 38th death anniversary, the senior TV and Radio artist Salem Shehzad will perform and pay him a tribute.
