Chairman of National Business Group Pakistan, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, and All Karachi Industrial Alliance, and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain, said on Monday that Mian Nawaz Sharif is set to resume the presidency of PML-N after a seven-year gap. He said this shift will be a significant development and a welcome change in the country’s politics.

Mian Zahid Hussain said that the business community anticipates that political and economic conditions will improve rapidly under Nawaz Sharif’s guidance. At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will work hard to promote economic diplomacy.

Talking to the business community, the veteran business leader said that the false cases against Nawaz Sharif have met their fate and that his presidency will give the party more public recognition and a new lease of life.

Mian Zahid Hussain said that the PML-N’s position on various vital issues will become more apparent, positively impacting the country’s politics. The country’s economic affairs will improve rapidly, and cooperation with friendly countries, especially Saudi Arabia and China, will increase.

Mian Zahid Hussain said there needs to be more consensus on various issues in the PML-N, which will be a test for Mian Nawaz Sharif’s leadership. He noted that the economy is suffering, inflation is rising, electricity, gas, and oil prices have increased poverty, public unrest is skyrocketing, and politics is going through a period of uncertainty.

In these circumstances, Mian Nawaz Sharif is responsible for actively getting the country out of these problems. He must also balance the relationship with other political parties and improve the civil-military relationship.

Mian Zahid Hussain also stated that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had appointed Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as Deputy Prime Minister, which is welcome.

He will be the second politician after Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to become Deputy Prime Minister.

Ishaq Dar is considered very close to Nawaz Sharif, and his competence in economic matters is respected.

The business community is optimistic that, as Deputy Prime Minister, he will strengthen economic diplomacy, which will help manage the country’s economy.

The business community is confident that his abilities will be fully utilised in economic matters.
