Container backlog at KICT resolved: KCAA

Sheikh Waqas Anjum, General Secretary of the Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA), has stated that the recent container backlog at Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT), which had been causing delays and operational difficulties, has now been cleared.

He stated that this improvement was made possible through effective coordination between KCAA, Pakistan Customs Appraisement (West), and KICT Management. KCAA remained in constant contact with all stakeholders to ensure a timely resolution of the issue.

KCAA acknowledged the efforts of the Customs Department and KICT management in restoring normal workflow. At the same time, KCAA emphasized the importance of maintaining this level of efficiency consistently to prevent similar backlogs in the future.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitoring port operations and maintaining constant communication with Customs authorities and Terminal Operators to safeguard its members’ interests and ensure smooth trade facilitation.
