BYCO calls tender for O&M for its single point mooring facility

BYCO issues international tender to provide operation & maintenance (O&M) services for its single point mooring facility (SPM) in Pakistan. Bids are due on Aug 16.

Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited is Pakistan’s largest oil refining company, having the nation’s highest refining capacity of 156,000 barrels per day. Engaged in oil refining, petroleum, and lubricants marketing, Byco has become Pakistan’s energy sector leader. It is the only vertically integrated company in the country’s petroleum industry.

Byco produces a wide range of refined petroleum products, including LPG, Motor Gasoline, Kerosene, Jet Fuel, High-Speed Diesel, and Furnace Oil.

One of Byco’s significant strategic advantages is its Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility. Byco’s SPM is the only floating liquid port in the country, allowing Byco to directly import and export crude oil and refined petroleum products. The SPM has situated 15 km from Byco’s refinery, connected to the refinery storage tanks via an 11.5 km undersea and 3.5 km onshore pipeline. Due to its being positioned in the deep sea, the SPM’s depth of 26 meters allows much larger vessels (VLCC’s or Very Large Crude Carries) and can currently handle vessels of 100,000 deadweight tonnage.
