“During the lockdown due to COVID-19, people got sick and depressed by sitting at home, a large number of technicians, actors and makeup artists were unemployed. Today, I am glad that Pakistan is in a much better situation, and thankfully, the happenings have begun. I along with the members of the governing body, has decided to restart the activities with the Awami theatre festival.

The first purpose of this festival is to spread joy among artists and members of the arts council” these views were expressed by the president arts council Mohammad Ahmed Shah at the press conference of Awami theatre festival 2020 held at arts council Karachi.

The President Arts Council held a press conference to announce the launching date of the Awami theatre festival at the moment veteran actor Talat Hussain and Secretary Arts council Ejaz Ahmed Faroqi were present.

Further talking to the media, Ahmed shah assures that the arts council Karachi will cooperate with everything including set designing, technicalities, and management.

“Last year this festival was much appreciated, and this time the festival will be held in a unique way consisting of Sindhi, Siraiki, Memoni, Punjabi dramas as well” he added.

Senior actor Talat Hussain said that what Ahmed shah did for the arts council is no one did it before. People in London, France, and Russia acknowledge the efforts of Ahmed Shah. To make this festival a big hit, we all should work together.

Ejaz Ahmed Faroqi said that the arts council is for the benefits of artists.

Awami theatre festival will begin on September 18 and will continue till October 04.
