The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi hosted the book launch of “Pakistan In Perspective” by Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University. The event, held at the Haseena Moin Hall, featured prominent figures from academic and social circles. Salman Farooqi presided over the ceremony, with Huma Baqai as the moderator.
Farooqi described history as a living mosaic, stating that scholarly works like this book preserve national memory. Dr. Saif ur Rehman praised the book’s dedication “For the people of Pakistan” and highlighted its research-based approach regarding the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The 207-page publication analyzes major national issues, avoiding emotional rhetoric for a realistic perspective.
Dr. Junaid Ahmed shared insights from his experiences in China, emphasizing its educational strategic investments. Dr. Anjum Halai discussed the book’s chapters on education, highlighting the need for university independence and the impact of the 18th Constitutional Amendment on governance.
Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh remarked on the dedication required for writing, thanking the Arts Council for hosting the launch.
