APCAA asked Hutchison Ports Pakistan to waive the demurrage and port charges

Sheikh Mohammed Tariq, Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA), draws the attention of the concerned authorities and entities to the issue faced by importers during the recent Eid holidays followed by long weekends and adverse weather conditions as importers faced significant challenges in clearing their containers and LCL cargo from the port.

These circumstances were beyond their control, and delays in the clearance process resulted in the accumulation of demurrage and port charges.

Given these circumstances, APCAA requests that Hutchison Ports Pakistan waive the demurrage and port charges levied on the containers and LCL cargo. Importers should not be penalized for events beyond their control and for which they bear no fault.

APCCA maintains that granting this waiver would alleviate the financial burden on importers and demonstrate your company’s understanding and support during challenging times. It would be perceived as a gesture of gratitude and respect towards your esteemed terminal and company.

APCCA sincerely appreciates your consideration of this request and looks forward to a positive response.
