Another positive session was witnessed at the PSX today

·        Another positive session was witnessed at the PSX today. The benchmark KSE-100 index traded in the green for majority of the session, maintaining the momentum from the previous session, as investor remained hopeful for positive outcomes from the Prime Minister’s visit to China. Volumes improved significantly in the main board yet 3rd tier stocks remained in the limelight.

·        The Index closed at 41,944.59pts, up by 135.9pts (+0.33% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include E&P’s (+60.3pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+48.2pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+39.6pts), Fertilizer (+19.5pts) and Automobile Assembler (+9.5pts).

·        Volumes increased from 192.1mn shares to 230.6mn shares (+20.0% DoD). The average traded value  decreased by -1.3% to USD 28.2mn as against USD 28.60mn.

·        Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are HASCOL, WTL, CNERGY, GTECH and TPLP.
