· A negative session was witnessed at the PSX today. The benchmark KSE-100 index recorded a lackluster session as investor participation remained low due to ongoing political unrest, with the index shedding 555.75 points intraday volumes in the main board. However, decent volumes were recorded in the 3rd tier stocks.

· The index closed at 39,342.89 pts, down by 489.546 pts (-1.23% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Commercial Banks (-159.0pts), Technology & Communication (-106.4pts), Fertilizer (-71.2pts), E&P,s (-52.2pts), OMSc (-24.4pts).

· Volumes decreased from 265.3mn shares to 166.0mn shares (-37.4% DoD). The average traded value also decreased by -38.2% to USD 17.9mn as against USD 29.0mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are WTL, HUML, DFML, KEL & HASCOL.
