Ameer JIP Karachi raises voice for city’s rights

Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that until a flawed local bodies act is in place, problems of Karachi would never be solved. He was addressing a gathering of Industrialists at Korangi Association of Trade & Industry here on Thursday. President KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman, Chairman & CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice President Zaki Sharif, Vice President Nighat Awan, Former Presidents of KATI Masood Naqi, Zahid saeed and others also addressed the occasion.

Hafiz Naeem said that current local bodies act of Sindh is the biggest hurdle in the way of Karachi’s prosperity. He said that in census Karachi was deprived of the real numbers of population which also reduced the city’s representation in legislative bodies. He urged the business community to join their hands with Jamat in an ongoing movement for rights of Karachi.

President KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman said that as a representative of industrialists, KATI holds the top most priority of development of industrial area and prosperity of the city. He said that on these issues we will give our full support to any individual or organization. He also appreciated the efforts of Jamat-e-Islami for highlighting Karachi issues particularly power crisis of the city.

Zubair Chhaya mentioned that Naimat Ullah Khan duration as City Nazim, Jamat proved its strongest commitment to Karachi, and now they are raising issues of Karachi. Masood Naqi said that we can only offer our support for the legislative issue regarding industrial area and we expect the Jamat will bring a comprehensive agenda regarding this. Zahid Saeed said that state had abandoned Karachi, Jamat has been doing tremendous efforts for the rights of this city and any section of the society could not stay away from such movement.
