AI is driving increased use of real-time data by finance teams, enabling enhanced business decision-making, according to a report from ACCA and CA ANZ. Over 60% of finance teams have increased their use of real-time data in the past two years. However, 93% of finance professionals express concerns regarding the integrity of AI-generated insights, citing issues like inaccuracies and bias.
The survey also highlights a breakdown of traditional silos, with nearly 60% of teams collaborating closely with IT and data departments. Despite the growing importance of AI, 72% of respondents report lacking advanced generative AI skills, though many are seeking training independently. As real-time data becomes central to decision-making, critical thinking about its limitations is becoming essential.
Key challenges identified include data quality, skill gaps, and integration issues. The report emphasizes the need for CFOs and finance leaders to focus on upskilling and strengthening collaboration to fully leverage AI’s potential in driving strategic insights.
