Malik Khuda Bakhsh, CEO and Chairman of Malik Group of Companies, has predicted that the usage of electric vehicles (EVs) in Pakistan is expected to increase to 30% by 2030. Speaking at a signing ceremony for an agreement between the Malik Group and Lucky Petroleum Private Limited (LPPL), he emphasized that pollution-free transport is crucial for the public, particularly in light of the growing trend towards electric vehicles. He added that the installation of large-scale EV charging stations in Karachi is imminent.

The agreement, which focuses on installing EV charging equipment at 10% of Lucky Petroleum’s retail outlets, was signed by Malik Khuda Bakhsh and LPPL CEO Naseem Aqsar Abbasi. Malik Khuda Bakhsh emphasized that with the support of the Chinese investment company ADM Group, they have already begun installing EV charging equipment in Sindh to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles.
