Asian Development Bank (ADB) Director for Central and West Asia Jiangfeng Zhang, along with the ADB team, called on WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed (Retd) at WAPDA House. Matters related to funding the Naulong Dam Project and the National Flood Telemetry Project were discussed in detail during the meeting.
WAPDA Members (Finance), (Water), and (Power), and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, ADB Director for Central and West Asia said that ADB would continue working with WAPDA by deepening its ties to implement climate-resilient projects in Pakistan. He also appreciated WAPDA for its technical expertise in harnessing water resources in the country.
Earlier, WAPDA Chairman thanked ADB for its support in managing Pakistan’s precious water resources. It was agreed during the meeting that the prerequisites for both projects, particularly the National Flood Telemetry Project, would be timelined to fast-track financing arrangements and, thereafter, initiate construction work on the projects.
It is important to note that ADB has already shown keen interest in providing funds for the Naulong Dam and the National Flood Telemetry Project.
