A positive session was witnessed at the PSX today

·        Despite the lack of investors’ participations a positive session was witnessed at the PSX today. Prevailing political clatter kept the volumes dry in the main board as 3rd tier stocks continued to be the volumes leaders.

·        The Index closed at 41,264.66pts, up by 124.33pts (0.30% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Technology & Communication (46.7pts), Power Generation & Distribution (32.5pts), Cement (21.5pts), E&P’s (16.2pts) and Automobile Assembler (12.1pts).

·        Volumes decreased from 177.7mn shares to 97.5mn shares (-45.2% DoD). The average traded value  also decreased by -45.9% to USD 11.3mn as against USD 20.9mn.

·        Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are WTL, GTECH, SILK, KEL and CNERGY.
