· A positive session was recorded at the PSX today. The market opened in the green zone and traded in the same range during the trading session reaching an intraday high of 203.47 points as investors chose to be vigilant due to the ongoing political and economic uncertainty. Investors’ involvement remained dull throughout the day, as volumes in the mainboard dried up while 3rd tier stocks continued to dominate the volume board.

· The index closed at 40,082.37 pts, up by 82.00pts (+0.20% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Commercial Banks (+30.7pts), fertilizers (+24.5pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+21.2pts), Tobacco (+15.5pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+13.8pts).

· Volumes increased from 64.5mn shares to 87.2mn shares (+35.2% DoD). The average traded value also increased by +31.8% to USD 11.6mn as against USD 8.8mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are TELE, WTL, KEL, HBL, and DGKC.
