HCSTSI held an awareness session on “Islamic Banking, Digital Banking and Business Facilities”.

Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry, in collaboration with Meezan Bank Hyderabad, organized an awareness session on “Islamic Banking, Digital Banking and Business Facilities” at the Chamber Secretariat on Saturday, June 20.

In his welcome address, Senior Vice President Ahmed Idrees Chohan welcomed the Meezan Bank delegation and participants and said that HCSTSI continuously organizes such information programs to raise the business community’s awareness of modern financial and business facilities. He said that strong linkages between the banking sector and the business community play an important role in promoting economic activities and creating new business opportunities.

Vice President HCSTSI Shan Sehgal said in his address that in the present era, digital banking, Islamic financial services and modern payment systems have become indispensable for business development. He said that the Hyderabad Chamber is promoting collaboration with various institutions to provide the business community, especially young investors, small and medium enterprises, and women entrepreneurs, with access to modern financial facilities. He said that QR Payment Solutions, POS Machines, and Digital Banking not only make business transactions easy and secure but also serve as effective means of documenting the economy and increasing business efficiency. He appreciated Meezan Bank’s initiative to raise awareness of Islamic banking, deposit structures, and various investment products, and said that such programs help the business community make better financial decisions. He said that the State Bank of Pakistan has launched many schemes for SMEs and women entrepreneurs, and, in this regard, information desks must be established in all banks.

Speaking on the occasion, Meezan Bank Senior Area Manager Rafiq Ahmed Memon said that this joint effort between Meezan Bank and the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry is an important step towards raising awareness among the business community about modern banking facilities, Islamic financial services, and investment opportunities. He said that Meezan Bank is committed to providing Sharia-compliant financial solutions and modern digital banking facilities to traders, industrialists, SMEs, and new entrepreneurs, while such awareness programs help further strengthen ties between the business community and the banking sector.

Later, Murad Ali from Meezan Bank gave a detailed presentation on QR and POS machines and digital banking, and said that modern digital payment systems are playing a significant role in making business transactions fast, secure, and efficient. He also informed the traders about the practical benefits of QR Payments Solutions and POS facilities.

On this occasion, Hafiz Salman gave a detailed briefing to the participants regarding Islamic banking and deposit structure. He highlighted the principles of Islamic finance, various Islamic banking products, and investment and savings opportunities, and said that Islamic banking provides financial facilities to the business community in accordance with Sharia.

Later, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah informed the participants about Al Meezan Investment Products and provided detailed information on various investment funds, their benefits and opportunities available to investors. He said that through systematic investment, individuals and businesses can achieve their financial goals effectively.

At the end of the presentations, a question and answer session was also held in which the participants expressed great interest and got answers to their questions related to various banking and investment issues. The participants termed this information session as an extremely useful and timely initiative for the business community.

The ceremony was attended by Meezan Bank President, Branch Manager Nadeem Ali Abbasi, Vehicle Account Branch Manager Furqan Memon, Area Coordinator Anwar Ahmed Arain, and other banking officials, as well as former President Saleemuddin Qureshi, Senior Member Sikandar Ali Rajput, Secretary General Furqan Ahmed Lodhi, and other members from the chamber.
