Kazakhstan delegation visits KPT to explore maritime investments

A 12-member delegation from Kazakhstan visited Karachi Port Trust to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s maritime sector. Chairman KPT Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI (M), S.Bt (Retd), Chairman Port Qasim Authority Rear Admiral Syed Moazzam Ilyas HI (M) (Retd), and Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Noor-ul-Haq Baloch briefed the delegation on port operations, infrastructure, and development projects.

Chairman KPT highlighted opportunities in transshipment, off-dock and multipurpose terminals, the Maritime Business District, and the Marine Workshop Manora, including dry-dock and floating-dock facilities. He also underscored Karachi Port’s strategic location and growing role in regional trade.

The delegation showed keen interest in investment opportunities at Karachi and Gwadar ports, while National Logistics Corporation officials briefed participants on regional multimodal trade corridors linking Central Asia through Pakistan.
