ICAP honors Asma Jan Muhammad for Global leadership excellence

Asma Jan Muhammad, a prominent Pakistani finance leader, author, and thought leader, has received the Overseas Excellence Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan for her outstanding international achievements and leadership contributions.

With dual qualifications as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW & ICAP) and an MBA from Swiss Business School, Asma has over 20 years of leadership experience across various sectors, including FMCG, retail, and manufacturing. Her journey began in 2000 in Pakistan, where she earned two gold medals in CA Foundation studies, and continued with her recognition as CA Woman of the Year in 2019.

Asma’s professional path has been shaped by perseverance, especially after losing her father at a young age. She built her career in a male-dominated field while raising her family in the UAE, balancing professional and personal aspirations.

An accomplished author, she focuses on behavioral finance and decision-making in the digital age in books such as *Maya’s Paradox* and *Smart But Wrong*. She is also an influential voice in discussions on leadership, ethics, and organizational culture.

Asma expressed her gratitude for the recognition, highlighting ICAP’s significant role in her journey and her family’s support. Her achievements include recognition as one of the Top Women CFOs in the UAE and multiple awards for her contributions to strategic finance and leadership.
