Cement dispatches increased by 11.14% during Apr-26

Cement dispatches increased by 11.14% in April 2026, totaling 3.890 million tons, up from 3.500 million tons in the same month last fiscal year. According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement despatches during April 2026 reached 3.217 million tons, up from 2.677 million tons in April 2025, marking an increase of 20.17%. In contrast, export dispatches declined significantly by 18.22%, dropping from 823,032 tons in April 2025 to just 673,058 tons in April 2026.

North-based cement mills dispatched 2.662 million tons to domestic markets in April 2026, representing an 18.25% increase from 2.251 million tons dispatched in April 2025. Notably, there were no exports from the North in April 2026. Thus, total dispatches from North-based mills amounted to 2.662 million tons, reflecting a 12.52% increase from 2.365 million tons in April 2025.

South-based mills dispatched 555,104 tons of cement to local markets in April 2026, which is 30.35% higher than the 425,869 tons dispatched in April 2025. However, exports from the South decreased by 5.01%, to 673,058 tons in April 2026, down from 708,565 tons in the same month last year. Therefore, total dispatches by South-based mills reached 1.228 million tons, which is an 8.26% increase from the 1.134 million tons dispatched in April 2025.

For the first ten months of the current fiscal year, total cement despatches (including domestic and exports) reached 42.396 million tons, representing a 9.83% increase from 38.600 million tons despatched during the same period last fiscal year. Domestic despatches during this period totaled 34.785 million tons, up from 31.244 million tons in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 11.33%. Export despatches saw a 3.47% rise, increasing to 7.611 million tons in the first ten months of the current fiscal year from 7.355 million tons during the same period last fiscal year.

North-based mills dispatched 29.014 million tons of cement domestically during the first ten months of the current fiscal year, marking a 12.56% increase from 25.778 million tons dispatched from July 2024 to April 2025. However, exports from the North plummeted by 35.39% to 797,679 tons during the same period, down from 1.234 million tons last year. Overall, total despatches by North-based mills increased by 10.36% to 29.812 million tons in the first ten months of the current fiscal year from 27.012 million tons during the same period last fiscal year.

Domestic despatches by South-based mills from July 2025 to April 2026 were 5.771 million tons, a 5.56% increase over the 5.467 million tons dispatched during the same period last fiscal year. Exports from the South also rose by 11.31%, reaching 6.813 million tons, up from 6.121 million tons during the same period last year. In total, despatches by South-based mills increased by 8.60% to 12.584 million tons during the first ten months of the current fiscal year, up from 11.587 million tons during the same period last fiscal year.

A spokesman for the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association stated that they expect a better geopolitical situation in the coming weeks, which should strengthen the global economy and reduce energy uncertainty. He also expressed hope for industry-friendly policies from the government in the upcoming federal budget to enhance operational competitiveness.
