Mashreq Global Network Pakistan Launches New Offshore Centres in Karachi and Lahore

Mashreq, a prominent international financial institution, has launched new Mashreq Global Network (MGN) Offshore Centres in Karachi and Lahore, reflecting its commitment to Pakistan’s talent and digital banking. Over USD 40 million has been invested to support MGN Pakistan’s growth.

The centres aim to broaden opportunities for skilled professionals and enhance the Group’s distributed workforce model by drawing talent from over 30 cities and hiring on merit. MGN Pakistan has doubled its workforce over three years to more than 520 employees, with plans for further expansion.

Mark Edwards, Group Head of Operations, highlighted the importance of these centres in accessing Pakistan’s digital talent pool while promoting operational excellence. MGN Pakistan emphasises upskilling, career mobility, and gender inclusion, with women making up 35% of the workforce, a high ratio in the financial sector.

Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad, CEO of Mashreq Pakistan, noted the long-term investment in the country’s potential. MGN Pakistan supports the growing demand for digital financial services, providing employment pathways and enhancing operational resilience.

Faisal Muqeet, Head of MGN Pakistan, stressed the importance of merit and diversity in building a strong Offshore Centre. The workplace has received recognition for its culture and gender inclusion, contributing to Mashreq’s broader efforts in Pakistan, including the launch of its digital retail bank and initiatives for financial inclusion and digital adoption.
