PAMA reports car sales of 17,174 units for the September 2025

Topline Pakistan Research has released a report on automobile production in Pakistan for September 2025. The data shows that car sales in September 2025 increased by 67% year-over-year (YoY) and 22% month-over-month (MoM), totaling 17,174 units. This figure represents a significant surge in the market, with the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA) reporting car sales of 17,174 units for the month.
The year-over-year growth is aided by a more stable macroeconomic environment, the introduction of additional car variants, improved consumer sentiment, lower interest rates, and easing inflation. Consequently, total sales for the first quarter of FY26 reached 42,267 units, reflecting a 53% YoY increase from 27,585 units sold in the first quarter of FY25.
**Company-wise Performance:**
– **Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR)** achieved the highest growth, with sales rising by 82% YoY and 2.15 times MoM to 2,307 units in September 2025. The City and Civic models saw a 73% YoY increase and 2.8 times MoM rise, totaling 1,977 units sold. Meanwhile, BRV and HRV models increased 2.6 times YoY but decreased by 12% MoM, contributing 330 units to the sales.
– **Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC)** reported a 79% YoY and 26% MoM growth, selling 8,997 units in September 2025. The Alto model continued to demonstrate high demand, with sales jumping by 50% YoY and 13% MoM. The Cultus, Swift, and Ravi models also experienced remarkable growth, with increases of 7.3 times, 2.3 times, and 4.3 times YoY, respectively.
– **Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW)** experienced a 73% YoY and 36% MoM increase in sales, totaling 1,429 units, which included sales of the newly launched HAVAL H6 PHEV variant.
– **Hyundai Nishat** recorded a 56% YoY growth but experienced a slight decline of 3% MoM, with sales reaching 1,175 units in September 2025. **Indus Motor Company (INDU)** saw a 33% YoY increase, although sales decreased by 7% MoM to 3,152 units.
– Sales of 2- and 3-wheelers grew by 21% YoY and 7% MoM, totaling 158,941 units in September 2025. This translated to first-quarter FY26 sales of 432,000 units, demonstrating a 35% YoY rise. Notably, Atlas Honda (ATLH), known for its popular CD70 bike, achieved its highest-ever monthly sales at 136,000 units in September 2025.
– Conversely, tractor sales fell by 27% YoY and 21% MoM to 790 units in September 2025, primarily due to floods and challenging farm economics. However, with the production of 2,077 units during the month, there are indications of underlying demand from the tractor scheme, suggesting a potential rebound in future sales.
– Sales of trucks and buses surged by 2.6 times YoY and increased by 24% MoM, reaching 824 units in September 2025, marking a high not seen in 88 months. This brings total sales for the first quarter of FY26 to 1,864 units, a two-fold increase from the 926 units sold in the first quarter of FY25.
**Outlook:** We anticipate continued positive momentum in auto sales throughout FY26, driven by lower interest rates and a pipeline of new models set to be launched by various companies across different engine types, gasoline, diesel, and electric—hybrid, Plugin Hybrid, etc.
