Karachi Fun Festival, Schedules from Sept 28 in Karachi

“Karachi Fun Festival” an occasion for all has been arranged on the 28th & 29th of September in Karachi. Cultural festivities are the veins of Karachi which is actually a way to somewhat relax the people of Karachi from the daily hustles of life and this positive image that we all see is due to the tireless efforts of the electronic and print media. We have extended invitations to all of those people who have played and are still playing even a minor role in this great cause from the platform of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.

Karachi Fun Festival is being given special consideration and support from the Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani. President Arts Council of Pakistan Muhammad Ahmad Shah expressed this in a press conference held at ACPKhi. He also shared that this initiative was taken in 2013 where gathered the artistic and sophisticated people from all over Karachi that includes Sadequain, Faiz Ahmed Faiz who served as the Vice President for 3 years, Ahmed Pervaiz who has an Art Gallery to his name. Meher Afroze expressed that when this initiative was taken in 2013, the law and order situation of Karachi was not stable and the fear among Karachiites of terrorism was still there and this festival act as the ray of sunshine to extract the sadness among them. School children, artists, and people from all over Karachi took part in the festival. “Take Initiative” named art exhibition was arranged, along with poetic symposium, and performing arts activities included in the festival. A baithak was setup at the Cantt Station where benched were installed for the travelers.

Noor Jehan Bilgrami shared that approximately 150 artists, architects, designers worked day and night in order to gather these things. Surely it was only achieved due to immense support from the Governor Sindh, President Arts Council Karachi and Commissioner Karachi. Arshad Farooqui added that Karachiites are afraid to intend a hand of friendship to people next door, due to which the spirit of brotherhood is rare these days, to which we are planning to arrange exercises and activities which will surely fill the gap of entertainment activities that we lack. We will also introduce a system to provide basic knowledge of recycling and disposal of waste and help plant trees to avoid pollution and global warming. Ms Nooria expressed herself that we have been working day and night to gather street children from all over Karachi to one platform where they can enhance their skills and learn what they want to, be it street children, or orphans. Basic education will be provided to which we have been working with numerous organizations as we strongly believe that these little angles are the bright future of Pakistan who will Insha Allah represent Pakistan in the best of ways and have the potential to serve its country in whatever fields they go to.

Going in the details of the festival Ms Nooria told that the festival will begin at 8 in the morning and will conclude at 8 in the evening, the festival invited children from all walks of life no matter the age, caste or ethnicity. The children will learn new things and will be provided great entertaining activities. Children will be provided four different platforms naming “Tamasha Ghar” where famous practitioners will be showing their iconic performances, “Games of Sciences” where children will learn about the greatest inventions for an eco friendly Pakistan, “Aao Suno Kahani” which will encourage children to develop a habit of reading books, writing and poetry too, and “Funkaar Gali” which will enhance the children to develop an understanding of arts, handicrafts and painting among children. This activity is specifically organized to give a chance to the young minds to paint the city in the most brightest and colorful ways with their thoughtful minds. The entry to the festival is free of cost. Everyone is welcome.
