SBP reserves decreased by US$ 2,915 million

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 18,554.5 million as of 25-March-2022. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 12,047.3 million

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks    : US$ 6,507.2 million

Total liquid foreign reserves             : US$ 18,554.5 million

During the week ended on 25-March-2022, SBP reserves decreased by US$ 2,915 million to US$ 12,047.3 million. This decline reflects repayment of external debt, including repayment of a major syndicated loan facility from China. The rollover of this syndicated facility is being processed and is expected shortly.
