Syed Aman Shah criticizes the closure of border trade Balochistan

Provincial Convener of Awam Pakistan Party Balochistan, Syed Aman Shah, has expressed serious concern over the closure of border trade in Balochistan and demanded its immediate reopening. He stated that the shutdown has led to a dangerous rise in unemployment across the province.

He added that thousands of people who depended on border trade have suddenly lost their livelihoods. As a result, not only have their household incomes collapsed, but social problems are also increasing. He warned that growing unemployment is pushing youth toward frustration, which is contributing to a rise in street crime — an extremely alarming situation. If timely action is not taken, conditions could worsen further.

Syed Aman Shah emphasized that in a deprived province like Balochistan, where employment opportunities are already limited, the closure of border trade is unacceptable under any circumstances. He noted that border trade is not only the sole source of income for thousands of families but also plays a vital role in the province’s economy. The shutdown has severely affected business activities and caused a downturn in local markets.

He urged the government to immediately restore border trade and announce a special relief package for those affected, so that public hardships can be alleviated.

Syed Aman Shah further stated that Awam Pakistan Party will raise this issue on every platform and continue to advocate for the rights of the affected people. He warned that if the government fails to act responsibly, the public may be forced to take to the streets, and the responsibility for any resulting situation will lie with the authorities concerned.
