Sewerage problems would be resolved soon in Korangi Industrial Area, assured by KWSB

Acting Managing Director of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) Asadullah Khan visited Korangi Association of Korangi Association of Trade &Industry (KATI) with other officials of the board to discuss the problems. On this occasion, President KATI Tariq Malik said that this meeting was a continuation of coordination was made last week between KATI and KWSB. He said there is a positive development regarding sewerage problems of sector 23 of Korangi Industrial Area (KIA).

He praised the speedy work of sewerage work in the area. There is a hope that other problems regarding sewerage in the locality would be solved soon. Acting MD KWSB Asadullah Khan said that we are ready to solve sewerage problems, despite many financial issues faced by the board. He said for repair work of pumping stations, construction of rising mains we have prepared PC-I and the work is awaited to approval of funds by provincial government. The MD also agreed to form a committee, consisting on representatives of KATI and KWSB officials, to resolve billing complains.

KATI’s Standing Committee on KWSB Umer Rehan said that lots of work has been done in sector 23 but the board should consider 27 as well. He said that response of officials on our complain was quite satisfactory and gave us hope for the speedy solution of remaining issues of KIA.

Chairman and CEO KITE DMC ZubairChhaya told that there is plenty of complains related to revenue department. He said that shortage in water supply has now become a challenge for industrial sector. He urged the board officials to take urgent notice of problems were affecting industrial area, heavily.
On this occasion, members of KATI also informed KWSB officials their problems regarding sewerage and revenue. Vice President of KATI JunaidNaqi, Akbar Farooqui and others were also present.
