Faizal Moiz Khan, President of the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), has urged the Prime Minister and finance officials to extend the income tax return filing deadline to December 31, 2025, due to widespread flooding that has disrupted business activities.

Khan criticized the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for last-minute changes to tax return forms, which have added to the confusion for taxpayers.

He noted that even if the changes are accepted, the effective deadline would remain December 24. An extension would provide relief to businesses and improve tax compliance, benefiting the national treasury.
