NHA awarded 5 projects over Rs. 134 billion on PPP basis

NHA arranges 3-day Training Course on PPP Promotion

In order to promote Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the country, National Highway Authority (NHA) has arranged 3-day training course (August 02-04, 2017) for core staff of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) helping them structure their forthcoming projects under PPP modality. In addition to KPT’s team senior officials of Planning Commission and Fauji Fertilizer are also attending the course. NHA is striving for participation of private sector investment in its road infrastructure projects, so that burden on national exchequer could be reduced.

In opening remarks, NHA’s Member Planning Raja Nowsherwan said, National Highway Authority (NHA), through its dedicated efforts in last two years took a lead in the road infrastructure development through Public Private Partnership (PPP) by successfully attracting private sector investment. NHA, he said, has awarded five projects of worth over Rs 134 billion on PPP basis.
