KPT wins the KCCA inter departmental cricket league 2017

In a final played at TMC Cricket Ground, F. B. Area, the KPT Team set target of 279 runs for the Pakistan Navy to achieve in 50-Overs match and won it by a margin of 16 runs. Winning the toss and forcing Pakistan Navy to field first, the KPT team capitalize to score a good knock of 279 runs at cost of 7 wickets during the final match of Karachi City Cricket Association Inter Departmental Cricket League 2017. During the first innings, batsman Nadeem Jawed of KPT scored 105 runs while facing 113 deliveries. Besides him, batsman Faisal Khan also showed good temperament to score 53 runs in 46 deliveries. Usman Jawed also batted his heart out to score 47 runs in 61 deliveries for his team.

While chasing the score of 279 runs, Pakistan Navy put on a shaky start as wickets kept on tumbling. Still batsmen Abdul Lateef and Muhammad Waqas provided some resistance to the bowling side. Abdul Lateef scored 51 runs in 90 deliveries whereas Muhammad Waqas scored 44 runs in 54 deliveries. From KPT side, bowlers displayed great finesse to dismiss Pakistan Navy all out at 263 runs in 48.2-Overs. KPT spinner Sohaib Khan bagged 4 wickets at cost of 51 runs and another bowler Mansoor Ahmed clinched 3 wickets while giving 61 runs.

The Chief Guest on the occasion, KCCA President, Professor Ejaz Ahmad Faruqi distributed cash awards and trophy among winners and runners-up teams which concluded the proceedings of the day.
