KATI welcomes reversal of increased Social upper wage limit

Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) has applauded the decision of CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Labor Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah for withdrawal of enhanced the upper wage limit of social security from Rs10,000 to 22,400. In a joint statement released by KATI its Patron in Chief SM Muneer, President Tariq Malik, Senior Vice President Salman Aslam, Vice President Junaid Naqi and head of KATI’s Standing committee on Labor, EOBI &SESSI Zahid appreciated the decision.

Zahid Saeed said that business community and employers have deep concerns on the enhancement of the limit, this decision was taken without meaningful consultation of employers. He said that reversal of this decision has provided a sigh of relief but some issues are yet to be resolved. He said that proposals of amnesty on SECCI enrolment and one window operations related labor welfare departments were long awaited demands of business community. He hoped that these issues would be resolved soon, too.
