KATI urges for up to the mark fire fighting facilities in Karachi

President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Masood Naqi has shown concern over fir eruption incident in Karachi during last few months, and demanded up to the mark fire fighting facilities for the city. In a statement released by KATI, Masood said that administrative response to major fire incidents was not satisfactory. “Fire Fighting infrastructure was not developed proportionally as compare to increasing population, steady development of housing, increasing volume of industrial areas and other factors. Due to insufficient facilities, numbers of valuable lives were lost in such incidents” he noted. He also mentioned that such incidents not only cause severe threat to lives and assets but also cause a very negative impact on city’s image internationally. Referring to current incident in a local four star hotel he said that such incidents also effect investments.

Masood Naqi further demanded from Provincial and City administration to review the fire fighting facilities in the city of more than 20 million people and hub of economic and industrial nerve center of the country.
