KPT Fire Department performed firefighting drills at Oil Pier-2. The Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar witnessed the demonstration showcasing the professionalism, vigilance and quick response by the Port Fire Department during extinguishing the accidental fire.

The firefighters also displayed their ability to rescue individuals and salvage important documents and equipment, which the minister appreciated. KPT emergency departments conduct regular drills in preparation to deal with any untoward incident at sensitive areas, such as oil piers, and reassess business activities at various terminals and ports.

Minister Junaid Anwar was also informed during the occasion that the KPT fire department will assist the City Government of Karachi should a fire break out anywhere in the city.

Later, the Federal Minister visited the Oil Pier to observe the facilities and expressed satisfaction.
