Japanese delegation visits Hamdard University

Dr. Shigeru Suganami, founding president of Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) visited Hamdard University. Since its inception in 1984, AMDA has made earnest efforts in pursuing and achieving its aim to contribute to global peace through the improvement of human health and well-being.

After his arrival at Hamdard University he paid respect at the Mausoleum of Founder Chancellor Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said and went on to tour the University and Hamdard Village School.  He had meetings with the Chancellor HU, Mrs. Sadia Rashid and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shabib ul Hassan and other officials of Hamdard University. He was briefed about the areas of interest for collaboration with AMDA.  He showed his willingness to arrange meetings with the concerned officials and the ministries of Japanese Government for collaboration in biomedical Engineering. He also proposed that one dental student may be sent each year to the University of Okayama for short term internship program. Later he spoke to the students of the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Eastern Medicine and Pharmacy describing his organization and highlighting the guiding principles of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said and the 30 years long association with Hamdard.

 He later inaugurated the newly constructed extension of Hamdard University Dental Hospital Building.
