Govt lauded for introducing quality diesel : Main Zahid Hussain

President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), President AKIA, Senior Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Panel of FPCCI and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain on Wednesday lauded the decision of the government to introduce quality diesel in the market.

 
 

Pakistan State Oil PSO), the state-run retailer, has been directed to introduce better quality diesel by January which will have a positive impact on vehicles and environment, he said. Mian Zahid Hussain said that the sulphur content in the diesel to be introduced would be 90 percent lower than which is being consumed at present.

 
 

He said that many automakers have introduced Euro-II engines which importers also bringing cars from developed nations which works well with quality diesel.

 
 

Mian Zahid Hussain said that Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has done a commendable job by initiating better quality petrol in Pakistan. The authorities had promised to introduce RON 90 quality petrol in November this year to replace RON 87 used in Pakistan and Somalia.

 
 

The import of better quality petrol and diesel will help PSO increase its market share which stands around 56 at this time. He said that oil storage capacity in Pakistan is very low which must be increased to twenty days.
