FPCCI President Mr. Atif Ikram Shaikh, in his message on the occasion of FoodAg 2025 in Karachi, has stated: “FoodAg 2025 reflects Pakistan’s immense potential in the food and agriculture sectors. With liberal investment policies, competitive energy tariffs for industry, and the proactive role of SIFC, Pakistan is fast emerging as an attractive destination for foreign investors. I am confident that the agreements concluded by FPCCI and B2B meetings on the sidelines will translate into substantial trade and investment inflows to Pakistan in the coming months.”

It is pertinent to note that FoodAg 2025 was inaugurated by Mr. Jam Kamal, Honorable Federal Minister for Commerce of Pakistan; H. E. Sheikh Ahmad Bin Thani Bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar’s Al Reyada; Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, SVP FPCCI; Mr. Faiz Ahmad Chadhar, CE TDAP and Mr. Shehryar Taj, Secretary TDAP.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), highlighted the growing global confidence in Pakistan’s economy. “The presence of high-level delegations from Italy, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Scotland, and many other countries at FoodAg 2025 is a clear testament to Pakistan’s improving investment climate and the investor-friendly policies introduced under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC),” Mr Magoon said. He added that the event provided an excellent platform for Pakistani exporters of food, agriculture and allied products to forge direct B2B linkages with international buyers.

The opening day witnessed a series of high-profile bilateral meetings organised by FPCCI. An Italian business delegation held detailed discussions with FPCCI Vice President Mr. Zaki Aijaz and Chairman Pakistan-USA Business Council of FPCCI, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain. The Pakistani side briefed the visitors on the country’s large consumer market, liberal investment regime, and incentives offered through SIFC. The Commercial Counsellor, Mr. Yasir Hussain Khokhar, accompanied the delegation to the Pakistan Embassy in Rome.

A Vietnamese delegation comprising representatives of the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Forum (VEF), leading food importers, and electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast also met FPCCI officials. The meeting was addressed by the Chairman of the Pakistan-Vietnam Business Council of FPCCI, Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan, and explored opportunities in food trade and possible collaboration in the EV sector.

In another significant development, a delegation from the United Kingdom and Scotland concluded talks with the Pak-UK & Ireland Business Council of FPCCI, culminating in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding between Pakistani and British/Scottish companies. The ceremony was attended by FPCCI Vice Presidents Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain and Mr. Zaki Aijaz, as well as council office-bearers and members. Mr Owaiz Farooqi, Commercial Attaché at the Pakistan Consulate in Manchester, also graced the occasion.
